CBC, a news channel started 8 months back has shut down the business and informed its 80 odd employees to search for jobs. No compensation is paid to these journos. While iNews tv is next in the queue, NTV and tv5 are witnessing a great crisis. Slowdown growth of real estate is also one of the reasons.
What will be the fate of the mushrooming news channels after the elections?
These owners know there are no revenues in the business. Salaries and cable operator costs have shot up making the business unviable . They still want to do it to meet their political ends.
What would these new channels do when the elections are over and the dust settles down? Today these owners are ready to face losses. But for how long? Sources say, Y.S.Jagan is loosing 1.4 crore per day on the newspaper. Would he continue to bleed after these elections? Wait till April.
