Not only ETV-2, It's tough time to NTV also. Few of NTV Reporters are ready to quit organization.

Mr. Srikanth, Sr. Reporter is unhappy for a long time in NTV. He is going to resign by the end of month or in first week of August.

And one more Reporter Somagopal is also ready to jump. He has got an offer from Sakshi and the negotiations are going on.

In the same way, a Senior Crime Reporter Ramesh Vaitla is also ready to quit NTV, if he gets a good chance anywhere. Reports tell that He has confirmed his place in Asianet's Sitara.

Eluri Raghu Babu is capable in producing programmes by hook or crook. When in need he will talk buttering people, when there is no need he even does not recognise them. He will promise hike in salary everytime, but never keeps his promise.

With an attender and an Editor he can produce episode after episode. First he reads the script, modify it even after a scholar writes it, he will direct even the smallest data graphics, then he takes a view of the preview, if program fails, he even scold the entire crew, in purest KAMMA language.

One Raghu is enough to defame ETV2.

TV9 to expand English, Hindi, Tamil news channels

TV9 to expand footprint; English, Hindi, Tamil news channels and film channel on the cards

The Hyderabad-based Associated Broadcasting Company Pvt. Ltd (ABCL), which operates under the TV9 brand, is all set to launch a national English news channel, to be headquartered in Bangalore. At the same time, the company is also launching a Hindi news channel and a film news channel, both to be based in Mumbai.

The film news channel has been christened as Lehren TV. Its content would be 100 per cent film-centric, packaged into news, information, chat and gossip formats. Lehren is aimed at being the medium of choice for millions in India and overseas that consume news and entertainment relating to Bollywood.

ABCL also plans to launch a news channels for the NCR in Hindi, and in Tamil for Chennai. All these channels are expected to go on air in the next six months. "The work for all these channels is in an advanced stage and we will be launching them in the next six months. Our expertise lies in the news genre and we will exhaust them first. We want to be a pan-India player with news channels across the country,'' said Clifford Pereira, Director, ABCL.

Besides focusing on local news, the 24-hour English news channel will also cover national, international, sports and other relevant news. Mahendra Mishra, who is currently Director of TV9 Karnataka Pvt. Ltd, will head the group's English news channel as well.

TV9 currently operates news channels in Telugu, Kannada and Gujarati languages under the TV9 brand. ABCL also owns a Telugu devotional channel, Sanskruti. The group has recently acquired 51 per cent stake in Bengali news channel, Kolkata TV, in an all-cash deal. With the purchase of Kolkata TV, ABCL has thus spread its footprint in the Eastern market. ABCL also handles the sales and marketing of Indiavision, a Malayalam news channel, and is also holding an equity participation talks with Indiavision which is still inconclusive, said Pereira.

"We are already a force to reckon with. The week from May 25 to May 31 saw the channel shares of our network channels in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Kerala and Gujarat surging and becoming the number one network across India," said Pereira, quoting TAM ratings.

As is known, ABCL is 80 per cent owned by iLabs, which is a venture fund, and Unified Group. The balance 20 per cent is held by Ravi Prakash and five other professionals.

aswini dutt will ruin chiru's political career. He has done this once when he claimed that chiru supports his MP candidacy from Vijayawada. People taught both chiru and dutt a lesson by overwhelmingly voting against him. This chiru guy still hasn't learned anything and continues this unholy matrimony with dutt. People will outrightly reject him if he represents the sections, with which we all are fed up with.

After Zee 24 Gantalu, it is the turn of RTV today. Rayudu TV (RTV) promoted by Rayudu Vision Media Limited gave an advertisement in Sakshi calling for applications from candidates for their "new telugu channel".The departments mentioned in the advertisement are Production, Technicians ( Technical ), Distribution, Anchors ( Anchoring ), News and Marketing / Sales. It is a General Entertainment Channel with news bulletins. As per the available information, Mr. Basaveswar Rao ( of Udayam ) and Mr. Balagangadhar ( of citicable) are already with the channel. Intersted applicants are being asked to forward their CVs to hr@rvml.co.in

Mr. Rayudu earned money with his animation company and Race Animation College. He has been working on the channel idea for more than a year. The proposed channel will have its office and Studios in Uppal Industrial area. The sixe of the advertisement itself (2X10) showed how small the channel is going to be. The investment being very nominal, the impact this channel is going to create is also considered nominal. In the present market scenario, an entertainment channel needs atleast 200 crores to sustain.

Avid got separated from Apple and developed its own software suitable for news in the name of iNEWS about 5 years ago. NTV and TV5 are its clients in Andhra Pradesh. The software has been tested well and it will be an added advantage for Sakshi TV since the video editors trained on iNEWS are easily available in the market.

However, other channels have opted for a relatively cheaper but sufficient software for news. TTV and iNews have ordered for Apple's FCP ( Final Cut Pro ) software. The software being used by TV9 ( grassvalley) is also relatively cheaper and the new channels must have thought that the cost of the software does not matter. TV9's Sanskruti has also procured FCP software. Recently Gemini News also shifted from its Chinese software ( Dayang ) to FCP.

Almost all the News Channels have decided to go for Virtual Studio softwares. The intersting point in opting editing softwares is that iNews channel is not using the software named iNEWS of Avid.

August 1st week crucial for News Channels

Almost all the news channels feel that 1st week of August is going to be very much crucial in terms of salary hike and recruitments.

TV9: The channel thet created ripples in the industry by giving hike upto 300 percent is also thinking seriously about 1st August. It is the date Mr. Ravi Prakash promised to pay the enhanced salaries along with dues ( the hike was with retrospective effect ). Mr. Ravi Prakash is in a dilemma whether to give all the dues this month or to divide it into two instalments since Zee 24 Gantalu and iNews are going to lure some people in the first week of August. There is nothing he could do if some of the employees desert him even after taking the dues.

NTV : The management has already promised its employees that they can see their incresed salary when they take the salary slips on 1st August. Everybody is anxious to know the level of the hike and then decide their future. While chances are still alive in the new channels, they are eagerly waiting for 1st August.

TV5: As promised to their employees, TV5 has to disburse the enhanced salaries in the 1st week. Many of them have already left and those who are still in the channel are waiting for the hike so that they can bargain on the latest salary. On the other hand, Mr. Sivaram Prasad has been promising his followers in TV5 to wait till 1st week for his proposed channel.

ETV2 : The management has decided to stick to its earlier stand that there will not be any hike in salaries. Most of the employees are planning to join Zee 24 Gantalu, which is also like a Public Sector Undertaking and aptly suits ETV2 people. They may not demand huge amounts on par with Sakshi but a stable job. Zee 24 Gantalu is going give such an assurance anyway. However, 5 day week concept is not applicable to the news staff of Zee 24 gantalu.

SAAKSHI TV : All those who have been recruited so far will be officially joining on 1st August. They will also be moving to the new building next to Care Hospital on Raod No. 1, Banjara Hills. There will be training classes to all the staff members. Happy that they could complete recruitment before the entry of Zee 24 Gantalu.

iNEWS: The recruitment will gain momentum once TV9 pays all the dues it promosed its employees since some of them have already confirmed to Mr. Rajasekhar that they will be joining in the 1st week. Even many of the NTV staff are also eyeing on iNews. The structure of the channel will be clearly known only at the end of the first week.

TTV : The recruitment has already reached its peak. Procurement of equipment will be complete by 1st August. Poaching of middle level staff is on. While Mr. Rammohan's efforts to bring Satya staff didnt yield the expected results, Mr. Sagar has started inviting Maa TV staff who were earlier im Mana Telugu. There is a fear that the demand for higher salaries goes up once there is hike in salaries of NTV and TV5. Even the existing staff may demand hike in salaries.

ZEE 24 GANTALU : Eyeing on freshers with reasonable salaries. There will be 20 percent of staff with more than 3 years experience in addition to those who are already with them. Dont want to be in the mad race of poaching. Likely to be very selective. Salaries will be better than TTV but less than TV9 and Sakshi. Bonus will be an added advantage. Existing staff were also promised a hike in salary soon after the recruitment

Channels competed well in LIVE

All the Telugu news channels have been successfully conducting live telecast today.They have proved themselves that they are on par with the national channels.

TV9 proved that it has a matured reporter at Delhi. Though the Delhi Reporter ( Mr. Shravan ) is standing outside the parliament and is completely unaware of the cash bundles being laid on the table, managed well. Suddenly Mr. Rajanikant asked him about the unpredicted issue but Mr. Shravan understood the situation in fraction of a second and answered the questions well.

NTV could arrange a dicussion in the studio but Mr. Yashonath's questions irritated Prof. Nageshwar. Though Mr. Nageshwar is on their rolls, he could not control himself from chiding Mr. Yashonath for his silly questions. Mr. Krishna from Delhi also failed to perform well this time.

TV5 tried telephone interviews. The presenter Ms. Jaya also received scoldings from Mr. Jayaprakash Narayana for her silly questions. Mr. Kommineni should have come to the studio instead of giving a phone interview. The only interesting thing in TV5 is a story by Mr. Sunil from Delhi on the unprecedented arrangements of electronic media for the live coverage at the Parliament.

ETV2 tried to give other news also in its bulletins. However, it scored by telecasting Advani's press brief after the House was adjourned till 5 pm. Its national network and presence of number of reporters helped it. Others telugu channels could not telecast it live

Land surveys and Political surveys

Ntv chief Narendrer Choudhry wanted to get some land cleared from the Government. Others offer a cut to the powers but he invented a new way. A survey telecast in favour of the ruling party which reveal the might of the bosses who need to clear the title of the disputed land. Survey is done in the office by some committed journos and the figures were ready within two hours. Dont worry about the credibility and reputation of the channel. If you get the land, everything can be built again. Afterall this was the goal for burning money in the channel

Zee announces Telugu News Channel

Finally, Zee Network has officially announced its intention to launch its Telugu channel - Zee 24 Gantalu. An advertisement calling for applications from both experienced professionals and trainees appeared in today's Saakshi daily ( supplement on employment - upaadhi ).
The management wants to give a youthful look to its channel and preferred applications from those who are below 35 years.

Four years ago Zee Network launched its Telugu entertainment channel in the name of Zee alpha but later relaunched it as Zee Telugu. Spending huge amounts of money, the channel could rope in some private producers for suitable content on the lines of its national channel. This has led to gain TRPs considerably. Zee Telugu's market share varies from 6 to 8 and is a pay channel now.

Though there are three news bulletins in Zee Telugu, they are not able to create any impact. The fact that there is no live facility and the existence of news channels may be the reasons. (Insiders say that 'the political ambitions and the posts held by its news chief is the main reason. ) Only the crime programme could attract the viewers as is the case with the other channels also. Keeping aside the question as to how far this ' Zee 24 Gantalu ' is going to create make a mark in the already crowded Telugu News Channel market, journalists are more than happy because there is yet another player in the market offering jobs.

'చిరు' పార్టీ అభ్యర్ధిగా జర్నలిస్టు సంఘం నేత

ఏ పార్టీ అధికారంలోకి వచ్చినా అధికార పీఠం చుట్టూ ఆ జర్నలిస్టు నేతలే కనిపిస్తుంటారన్న సంగతి మన జర్నలిస్టు మిత్రులందరికీ బాగా తెలుసు. వాతావరణాన్ని ముందుగానే పసిగట్టి తగిన జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకునే ' ఆ ఇద్దరు ' ఒకప్పుడు చంద్రబాబు చెంత చేరి చక్రం తిప్పిన వారే. ఇప్పుడు రాజశేఖర రెడ్డిని నమ్ముకొని ఆయనకు అండదండగా ఉన్నట్టు కనిపిస్తూ తరచు టీవీలలో కూడా ప్రభుత్వానికి అనుకూలంగా వాదిస్తూ తమ మనుగడకోసం నానా తంటాలు పడుతూ వచ్చారు.

ఇప్పుడు తాజాగా వాళ్ళకో అనుమానం వచ్చింది.నిజంగానే చిరు గాలి వీచి ఆయన గెలిస్తే తమ మనుగడ ఎలా ఉంటుందోనన్న అనుమానం వచ్చిందే తడవుగా ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేశారు. ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ వర్కింగ్ జర్నలిస్టుల సంఘం అధ్యక్షుడైన సోమసుందరాన్ని చిరు శిబిరంలోకి ప్రవేశపెడుతున్నారు. లోక్‌సత్తా నిర్వహించే పత్రికకు సంపాదకుడిగా ఉన్న సోమసుందరం ఏనాడూ తన కులాన్ని చెప్పుకోకపోయినా ఇప్పుడు అవసరం కొద్దీ ఆయన చేత చెప్పిస్తున్నారు. పశ్చిమ గోదావరి జిల్లాకు చెందిన సోమసుందరానికి, ఆయన కుటుంబీకులకు ఆ ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్న పలుకుబడిని, ఆయనకున్న సీపీఐ నేపధ్యాన్ని ఉపయోగించుకోవచ్చుననని ' మిత్రా' కు ఇప్పటికే ఊదరగొట్టటం ముగిసింది.

Narne Group's Studio N soon

Narne Estates, a well known Real Estate group which also owns Janmabhoomi Real Estates, is going to launch its news channel soon. Though the groundwork for an entertainment channel and a news channel was going on for about one year, the news came out once Mr. Sivaram Prasad had talks with them. After coming out of TV5, Mr. Prasad was in touch with some of the prospective investors and he came across Mr. Narne Srinivasa Rao, Chairman, Janmabhoomi Real Estates.

Though the earlier proposal was to launch both the Entertainment and News channels simultaneously, it is learnt that the proposal was changed. Now, they want to launch their news channel by November to catch up the election fever and Entertainment for Sankranti. Preliminary work for the launch of the news channel is already underway. Some of the followers of Mr. Sivaram Prasad in Tv5 have already resigned and some more to join him in the 1st week of August once they receive salary for July.

It is interesting to note that Mr. Yashley, Chief Technical Officer of TV5 has resigned and joined Narne group's Studio N. He was with SUN group before joining TV5. He has independently launched TV5 and now he took up the responsibility of launching two channels. It is not yet clear whether Studio N is the name given to the Entertainment Channel or the News Channel.

The premises of these two channels is located somewhere in Gacchi Bowli and the civil work of building was already over. Satya TV closed forever

Satya TV management has finally decided to close its shop four years after taking over from Mr. Sivaram Prasad, the initial promoter. Mr. Kasani Gnaneswar, the then ZP Chairman, Rangareddy Dist bought this channel which didnt even have license. There was a studio in a premises hired from HUDA and some furniture when it was taken over. Even after 4 years, addition was just 10 percent. The channel logos continued to appear in the field regularly and other channels had to agree since there was a valid license. The channel idea was kept on the back burner once Mr. Gnaneswar had the idea of starting his own party ( Mana Party soon after his coming out of TDP ). Everytime the management tried to tell their meagre staff that the channel work will commence soon. In fact a multistoreyed building was also nconstructed at Bachupally (on the outskirts of the city), the native place of Mr. Kasani Gnaneswar. Staff believed that the channel will see the light

తెలుగులో చానల్స్ పెరిగిపోతున్నాయని ఆందోళన చెందుతున్నవాళ్ళకో శుభవార్త ! 2007 వ సంవత్సరం జనవరి నుంచి జూన్ వరకు ( మొదటి అర్థ సంవత్సరం ) ప్రకటనల ఆదాయం కంటే 2008 మొదటి అర్థ సంవత్సరానికి గాను తెలుగు చానల్స్ ప్రకటనల ఆదాయం 32 శాతం పెరిగింది. దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 26 శాతం పెరుగుదల నమోదుకాగా ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ లో అంతకంటే ఎక్కువ పెరుగుదల కనిపించింది. ఈ కోణంలో ఆలోచిస్తే రాష్ట్రంలో చానల్స్ పెరిగినా మరీ అంతగా ఆందోళన చెందాల్సిన పనేమీ ఉండకపోవచ్చు.
ఉత్పత్తులన్నిటిలోనూ సెల్‌ఫోన్ ప్రకటనలదే అగ్రస్థానమని కూడా తేలిపోయింది. నిరుడు నాలుగోస్థానంలో ఉన్న సెల్‌ఫోన్ ప్రకటనలు ఇప్పుడు మొదటి స్థానానికొచ్చాయన్నమాట. సంస్థలవారీగా చూస్తే మొదటి స్థానం ఎప్పటిలాగే హిందుస్తాన్ లీవర్‌దే. నిరుడు 22వ స్థానంలో ఉన్న వోడాఫోన్ ఇప్పుడు 4వ స్థానంలోకి వచ్చేసింది.

Another survey : It's congress again వాట్ అబౌట్ tv5

NTV has once agian come up with a survey on the present political situation in the state. It is going to air its findings from today. Though the survey data has been kept highly confidential, informed sources say that it is again tilted towards Congress giving Chiru factor 'some' importance.

The survey has been conducted by a prestigious group Nielsen ORG MARG as was done earlier. However, last time the sample size was exaggerated ( ten times ) to say that it was authentic. The survey agency didnot certify the size last time. It has to be seen whether an official from the agency will also come and present the data. ( Practically it wont happen because Mr. Chowdary will have his own priorities ).

Earlier it was a fortnight affair and the channel lost its ratings. The failure was due to the fact that the results of the survey could not enthuse the audience and the presentation was also very poor. The packaging and promotion should have been better. This is time the survey presentation is going to last for a week to ten days, keeping in view the earlier experience.

Sitara on Film procurement flee

Sitara of Asianet has speeded up procurement of films. This is considered as a move to sell its channel to STAR at a higher price since movie bank always fetches good amounts by way of appreciation. It is learnt that Mr. Dasari Narayana rao, who was earlier thinking of launching his own channel has also found this a profit making job and offered to sell most of the movies he has procured. This is an indication that Dasari is slowing down on his channel proposal

జీతాల స్థాయి పెంచటంతో పాటు రిపోర్టర్ల ఎంపికలోనూ సాక్షి టీవీ సరికొత్త ప్రయోగాలు చేస్తోంది. ప్రధానమైన కేంద్రాలలో మాత్రమే ఇద్దరేసి రిపోర్టర్లను నియమించుకునే సంప్రదాయానికి భిన్నంగా ప్రతి జిల్లాలోనూ ఇద్దరు రిపోర్టర్లను నియమిస్తోంది. దీనివలన పని విభజన సౌలభ్యం ఉంటుందని యాజమాన్యం భావిస్తున్నట్టు కనిపిస్తోంది. స్పెషల్ స్టోరీల మీద వెళ్ళిన రిపోర్టర్ కు బాదరబందీ లేకుండా ఆ పనిలో నిమగ్నమయ్యేందుకు ఇది వీలు కల్పిస్తుంది. ఆకస్మికంగా ఏదైనా జరిగితే లైవ్ చేయగలిగే రిపోర్టర్ ఆ పని చూసుకుంటాడు.దీనివలన రిపోర్టర్ మీద ఒత్తిడి తగ్గి నాణ్యమైన వార్తలనిచ్చే వీలుంటుంది.
కానీ వాస్తవం ఇంత బాగా ఉంటుందా అన్నదే ప్రశ్న. జిల్లా రిపోర్టర్ ఆ జిల్లాలో రారాజులా ఉంటాడు. తన చానల్ కు సంబంధించినంతవరకు జిల్లాలో ఎవరైనా తననే సంప్రదించాలని ఆశిస్తాడు. తాను చేసే పనులు మరెవ్వరికీ తెలియకూడదనుకుంటాడు. కొన్నిచోట్ల కొంతమంది వాటాలు అందుకోవలసి వచ్చినా ఇబ్బందే. అందువలన ఇందులో ఇమిడి ఉన్న అధిపత్య సమస్యను సాక్షి యాజమాన్యం ఎలా పరిష్కరిస్తుందన్నదే అసలు సమస్య. ఇద్దరేసి రిపోర్టర్లు చేరినప్పటినుంచీ ఒకరిమీద మరొకరు ఫిర్యాదులు చేసుకోవటంతోనే కాలమంతా గడిచి పోతుంది. వాళ్ళను పర్యవేక్షించే వారు సైతం సగం కాలం ఫిర్యాదులమీద దర్యాప్తుకే ఖర్చు చేయాల్సి వస్తుంది.

సాక్షి సమస్యలను పక్కనబెడితే ఇప్పుడు జిల్లా రిపోర్టర్లు దొరక్క దాదాపుగా అన్ని చానల్స్ ఇబ్బందులు పడుతున్నాయి. కెమెరా ముందు మాట్లాడగలిగి ప్రత్యక్ష ప్రసారాలలో అనుభవం ఉన్న వాళ్ళనెవరినీ సాక్షి వదలటం లేదు. దాదాపుగా అన్ని చానల్స్ నుండి రిపోర్టర్లకు వలవేసి లాగుతున్నట్టు కనిపిస్తోంది. ఇప్పటివరకు వినిపిస్తున్న ఎంపికైనవారి పేర్లు పరిశీలిస్తే అందరూ ఏదో ఒక చానల్ లో పనిచేస్తున్నవారే. మరి ఆ ఖాళీలన్నీ ఎలా భర్తీ చేసుకుంటారో చూడాలి. ఈ సమస్య ఇంతటితో ఆగిపోదు. స్ట్రింగర్ల కోసం వెతుకులాట మొదలైతే ప్రింట్ నుంచి వలసలు కూడా ఎక్కువౌతాయి.

After his tour from AJ to NTV to TV5 it appears that Komminneni is set to make SAKSHI his final destination. The discussions between Sakshi and Kommineni have been fruitful and Sakshi TV will start featuring Kommineni every morning. It is being said that Komminnei is irked with the present Tv5 management's decision to bring Karim as CEO, along with his young (6th?) wife into the channel. So dear future veiwers wait for Sakshi Tv to mesmerise you with our dear old Kommineni.

Also, rumours are rounding that the former CEO of TV5, Mr.Siva Ram Prasad is going to start a NEWS Channel. He wants to be one step before to TV5 and he is going to name the channel as TV4.

the telugu television channel industry has really f@#&ed up the meaning of the word CEO. now it is not Chief executive officer... it is Channel Experiments On. One channel has Karim as CEO another channel has Geeta as CEO. Look at the stature of the CEO's of other channels like star news, zee news, aaj tak, etc., There is a meaning in calling RAviprakash a CEO, but now he needs to change his designation after Karim and Geeta becoming CEOs. I think they has asked for the designation of CEO just because they think that they are nothing short of Ravi Prakash.

I dont know how the new channels are going to pay hefty amount to their employees. When established channels like ETV are not in a position paying one third of the salaries offering by new channels, how can these channels make money out of it. on the otherside why the ETV group is not paying sufficient amount to employees when new channels are paying double or triple amount than ETV. I think the ETV management is not in a position to share it's profit with their employees. many efficient persons like sasthry are leaving the organisation, when the etv group learn lessons. now a days the quality of the etv2 bulletins have came down heavily. gone are the days when there was a monopoly in the media. Now eenadu punadhulu kadhuluthunnai. ETV is no longer number one and eenadu circulation is also came down. It is high time for ramoji group to think. Otherwise toughdays ahead for ramoji group

Asianet's Sitara will go on air on 15th August. However, the test run ( soft launch ) starts on 3rd August itself. Surya to takeover Satya

Satya TV promoter Mr. Kasani Gnaneswar has decided to sell away his TV to Mr. Nookarapu Surya Prakasa rao, the promoter of Surya daily. The modalities are being worked out and an agreement will be signed within a week as per reliable information.

Salaries issue comes up in IBF

Channel Heads attended the meeting held by the Indian Broadcasting Foundation on 9th at the new premises of Maa TV ( Near State Art Gallery, Jubilee Hills ) raised the issue of "unusual hike in staff salaries" and expressed serious concern. The national level organisation formed to protect the interest of the industry has held its regional meeting. Apart from other problems which need to be brought to the notice of the Union Government for immediate redressal, some of the members have raised the issue of the recent hike in salaries. Owner of a news channel trying hard for the third place pleaded for the intervention of the Foundation and suggested formulation of certain guidelines. Some of the members shared their anguish but finally the Foundation was of the opinion that the tendency was out of sheer competition and this cannot be solved by an organisation like IBF.

Zee Telugu News, hope of the left out

Most of the ETV2 journos have opted for Sakshi along with their leader Mr. Sastry. However, only his loyalists could get the opportunity. Some of the remaining staff are Ramoji's loyalists and there is a third group which is neither Ramoji's staunch supporting team nor Sastry's. They want to come out but the only hope is Zee Telugu and are waiting for the opportunity. The working conditions are same in both the channels and that too most of the existing Zee Telugu staff are also from ETV including its Head Mr. Sailesh Reddy. It is learnt that Zee Telugu is busy renovating a building close to the existing one and an advertisement is likely in a week or so. The discussion now is that wheteher 5 day week policy is applicable to the news channel or not. If it is applicable, the staff requirement will enhance by 15 percent.

TV9 took its salary hikes to upto 300 % as they got a fresh investment of Rs. 500 crores from a foriegn investor. This has send shock waves across the media sector in the state. Other channels are finding it very difficult to run their show now with the sal what they are giving to thier employees. In short overnight the channels have become unviable to their owners. All of them except Sakshi are in a fix as their salary reviews are also due now. For News Papers the cost of newsprint has shot up tremendously. This could probably sound the death kneel to many of the news paper brands. So deal all freinds and fellow bloggers it remains to be seen as to how many will remain in this business and how many overturn their boards.....

Eenadu Daily again facing tremondus troubles while two persons are ready to jump to Saakshi from Rayalseema region day or two. They have already given notice to the management. They have suffered lot with middle management and take a decession to quite Eenadu. What will accure waite and see.

One person from Eenadu ciy wing, went a lady, which item covered by him, and published in Vasundara recently, bribed 20 thousands, which information has a hot topic in Eenadu. Is it correct. Ramoji touring into Income Tax Offices.. then Eenadu staff collecting money from public. What a tragedy in Eenadu. I dont know about that brabing reporter but his news was publiced in Vasundara. He fixed rates to sent news to Eenadu woments page. Very shame to Eenadu. Ramoji Rao garu rectify it.

TTV to challenge the TV Journos !

Recruitments in TTV are at a slow pace despite the fact that they are willing to take hands. The salaries offered are very not upto the market standards and most of the people approached them are not happy with the amounts they are ready to give. Even key posts like Chief Technical Officer (CTO) could not be filled up so far. They have tried the CTO of TV5 but failed to attract him. For programming, they couldnt get a person from the TV medium and finally settled with a person from FM Radio. The only problem they were able to solve was the appointment of Input Editor. The simple procedure followed was to just eliminate the post itself.

After Kranti's refusal, they tried some staff from Maa TV for their Reporting section but could not impress them with the meagre salary. Their efforts to convince the tv reporters by telling them that this boom doesnt sustain for a long term turned futile. Mr. Peddi Sreedhar, incharge of Production department in TV5, who has been in contact with both Sakshi and TTV has agreed to join TTV only after he was denied a place in Saakshi. On knowing that Saakshi offered his friend Mr. Akbar Rs.70,000 for the same job, the heart burning is unbearable for Sreedhar.

The print giant Mr. Ramachandramurthy is unable to digest the trend and thinking out a plan to come out of this problem. It is likely that he will offer salaries on par with TV9 and Sakshi but the total number of staff will be limited to see that the budget doesnt cross its limit. The only other option left out was to recruit hands from the print and show the world that print people can make miracles in TV.

Sivaram Prasad to launch a News Channel -N స్టూడియో, one స్టూడియో

Yet another news channel ! Yes it is true !! TV5's former MD Mr. Sivaram Prasad caught hold of a potential investor and is going to launch another news channel. He had to quit TV5 two months ago due to differences with Mr. BR Naidu, Chairman.During these two months he was busy with his own 'Channel 4' work and at the same time searched for the potential investors. On finding a suitable person, he has finally decided to launch a news channel. It is also learnt that the investor was already working on an entertainment channel project for the last one year. It is yet to be known whether the idea of Entertainment channel still continues even after the news channel idea is floated or not.

Once the decision was taken, Mr. Sivaram prasad is said to have started sounding his lieutenants in TV5. One of his close associates in TV5 has already resigned and many have been thinking to quit. This will be a big blow to Mr.Naidu since cream ( if one believes in it ) of the channel ( not the upper strata including Kommineni, Kandula, Kareem and Venkata Krishna ) will be migrating to Sakshi and to Sivaram Prasad's new channel. However, Mr. Naidu is confident of his anchors and what he considers the four pillars - Kommineni, Kandula, Kareem and Venkata Krishna. This confidence is in such a way that he doesnt want to hike salaries of his staff

Ravi Prakash, Is it ethical ?

One of the employees of TV9 was beaten black and blue before being handed over to the police. The allegation was that he has stolen some software from TV9. The real "grave" mistake the person has committed was to resign the channel to join some other channel . If this sort of distortion of facts is allowed, every channel will start threatening their staff to see that none of them leave the channel. Employees of all the channels have to take this issue seriously. We don't support stealing of software but foisting cases with a malafide intention has to be stopped.

In fact, only people in top positions resort to such practices like stealing software from the channels they worked earlier.Mr. Satish Babu did the same thing and even today he bargains for a higher salary on the basis of the "library" he has. Mr. Ravi Prakash, CEO, TV9 himself has stolen software from Gemini TV. He took away news clips from Gemini and showing them even today. He has also stolen film content and sold it to Sneha TV in USA, in which he is a partner. Mr. Ravi Prakash, do you have an ethical right to question your staff member even if he has really stolen

TV5 thrown back, TV9 limps back

The latest ratings for the week 22nd June to 28th June 2008 shows that NTV has recovered and pushed back TV5. However, TV5 is showing an improvement in its market share. But this is part of the general trend exhibited by all the news channels. TV9 too recovered considerably but not doing well in the towns and rural areas.Let us see the data: ( The figures in brackets indicate previous week's position.)


HYDERABAD CITY :

In Hyderabad city, TV9 got a share of 5.70 ( 2.93 ) percent while ETV2 got 2.6 (2.1) percent, NTV got 1.45 ( 0.91) percent, TV5 got 1.53 ( 1.38 ) percent and Gemini News got 0.18 ( 0.20 ) percnt. This clearly shows that all the channels in general have improved considerably well. At the same time, TV5 is still ahead of NTV in Hyderabad city. TV9 almost doubled its share.


VIJAYAWADA AND VIZAG :

TV9 got a share of 4.03 (3.65 ) percent while ETV got 2.18 (1.7) percent. NTV got 1.99 (1.72) percent, TV5 got 1.38 (1.23) percent and Gemini News got 0.44 (0.41) percent. In this particular segment, the rate of performance of all the channels has increased almost uniformly.


TOWNS ( like vizianagaram, chirala and khammam ) :

TV9 got 2.74 (2.6) percent share while ETV2 got 1.72 (1.38) percent, NTV got 0.85 ( 0.82) percent, TV5 got 0.78 (0.65) percent and Gemini News got 0.49 (0.37) percent. TV5 has to feel sorry for the share since it always boasts of its district news. Seems people rejected these bulletins.There is inconsistency in NTV performance. Interestingly, ETV2 is liked more by the urban population than the rural.Overall performance has improved slightly.


TOTAL AP STATE :

TV9 made 3.32 (2.9) percent market share and this shows its recovery path.

ETV2 got 2.14 ( 1.71) showing considerable rate of growth on par with TV9.

NTV could get 1.26 (1.01) percent proving that it has restored its 3rd position.Recorded 25 percent recovery.

TV5 got 1.17 (1.02) percent market share showing individual growth but lost in comparison.

Gemini News got 0.36 ( 0.31) indicating that it can do well without a master. The upward trend started once its chief Mr. Satish Babu left.

రాజశేఖర్.. ఈ పేరు గుర్తుందా?.. టీవీ-9లో కో ఆర్డినేటర్ గా పని చేసిన ఈ వ్యక్తిని అవినీతిపరుడిగా ఆధారాలతో సహా నిరూపించి ఇంటికి పంపారు. స్టింగర్లు, రిపోర్టర్ల నుండే కాకుండా రాజకీయ నాయకులు, వ్యాపార, విద్యా సంస్థలు.. ఒకరేమిటి ఎవర్నీ వదలకుండా మామూళ్లు వసూలు చేసేవాడని రాజశేఖర్ కు పేరుండేది. ఒకానొక విద్యాసంస్థ అక్రమాలపై టీవీ-9 విలేఖరి ఒకరు స్టోరీ చేయడానికి వెల్లితే సదరు కాలేజీవారు అతన్ని బంధించి దేహశుద్ది చేశారు. జర్నలిస్ట్ సంఘాల నిరసన, పోలీసు, టీవీ-9 సిబ్బంది విచారణ అనంతరం సదరు కాలేజీకి, రాజశేఖర్ కు ఉన్న రుణానుబంధం బయట పడింది. ఆ తర్వాత రాజశేఖర్ వ్యవహారాలపై నిఘా పెట్టిన టీవీ-9 సిబ్బంది, ఇతగాడు ఓ నాయకుని దగ్గర లంచం తీసుకుంటుండగా స్పై కెమరాతో స్టింగ్ ఆపరేషన్ జరిపి మరీ పట్టుకున్నారు. ఇలా తొలగించబడ్డ రాజశేఖరుడు సి.ఇ.ఓ.గా సరికొత్త న్యూస్ చానెల్ రాబోతుంది. మనం పైన చెప్పుకున్న విద్యా సంస్థే ఈ చానెల్ను స్పాన్సర్ చేస్తొందిట. రాజశేఖరుని చానెల్లో స్టింగ్ ఆపరేషన్లు ఉంటాయా?..

In the footsteps of Sastry

It is yet another shock to ETV. The first shock was when Mr. Sastry joined Sakshi TV. Now the second shock is when they came to know that Mr. Bhaskar promoted and posted in Sastry's place also joined Sakshi TV. Earlier Bhaskar was working as Regional Coordinator.

Soon after Mr. Sastry's resignation, Mr. Raghu Babu's name came up since he is close to Mr. Ramoji Rao. In fact he was asked to go to Film City and take up news.But Raghu, who always looked tense doesnt want to take that risky post. At the same time he preferred back sat driving. Suggested Mr. Bhaskar's name and made him incharge of ETV2 News Bulletins. But he was not given any powers and Raghu started commanding all the staff to report him directly instead of Bhaskar. On understanding the conspiracy behind this appointment and coming to know that he will be a scapegoat if continued here, Bhaskar opted to join Sakshi TV. He was offered Rs.55,000 and will be working as a link between Input and Output.This is how the second man also left ETV2.

Mr. Kranti, incharge of Margadarsi also joined Sakshi, unable to bear the torture of Raghu Babu, whom the staff call Hitler.Some more staff members are getting ready to join Sakshi by 1st July as there was no hike in salary this month ( Today being the last date for calculation of salary).

Who Should own NEWS channels?

After Newspaper war, now its time for NEWS Channels war. The worrying factor is the kind of elements and the kind of money which are entering into news channel business. At national level Manu Sharma's News India is a classic example where he wanted to destroy NEWS channels by starting a news channel and a news paper. It seems that this channel is appointing history sheeter's and persons with criminal background as reporters and correspondents. This is the method and route they are adopting to destroy news channels which highlighted the jessica lal murder case trial.

In AP also many wrong elements have entered or are ready to enter into the news channel market. The irony is that journalists are forced to toe the line of these persons in their respective channels rather than bring out and produce stories which contain journalistic values. GOD save the future of news channels in AP.

A.J.Editor Arrest, Reaction of other Media Houses

As we all know the in and out of A.J. Editor's arrest issue happening since three days. Though everyone in our Journalist community condemned the over action of Police and State government. But two media houses seems to be very happy over this issue and supporting the MRPS activists. Is the support from these two media houses based on CASTE or the revenge formula which they are applying on rivals. Anyway the divide and rule logic has been started in AP Journalists community.

All journalists should condemn the attack of the govt on Andhra Jyothy.
Govt main aim is to arrest Eenadu Ramojirao. For testing the reactions, it arrested the Aj editor. Tomarrow Eenadu Ramoji will be arrested. Day after tomarrow each and every journalist, who writes against to the Govt will be arrested.

Can we allow Itv ?

The person who is going to start the ITV was caught red handed while taking bribe from a medical college and thrown out of his previous office. This incident occured in front of other journalists and the same person has announced a news channel which started recruiting people in the name of Itv. This guy who made couple of lacs through his blackmailing and corrupt practices comes with an advertisement stating that "much more is to be shown to the people of AP". We have to wait and see how much more corrupt pratices he can bring into his channel operations. It is also being said that he got hold of an NRI bakra by name Sanyasi Raju and lured him by saying that he could attain power by investing 10 crores in a news channel. Should we tolerate these kind of elements in electronic media.

మా టీవీ యాజమాన్యంలో మార్పులు జరిగిన తరువాత పరిణామాలన్నిటినీ పరిశీలిస్తే అక్కడి లుకలుకలన్నీ స్పష్టంగా అర్థమవుతాయి. పాత యాజమాన్యం మెచ్చుకున్న వాళ్ళను క్రమంగా పంపాలని ముందుగా నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు. అందులో భాగంగా పెద్ద తలలను తొలగించి కొత్తవాళ్ళకి స్థానం కల్పించారు. ఈ రెండేళ్ళ కాలంలో 50 శాతం మంది ఉద్యోగులు మారారంటేనే పరిస్థితిని అర్థం చేసుకోవచ్చు.

Why TV9 failed ? Tv5

When the city police went to arrest Mr.K.Srinivas, Editor, Andhra Jyothi the news channels NTV, TV5 and ETV2 gave live but TV9 failed. The insidera attribute technical reasons for the failure. NTV anchor Mr. Yashonath managed the show well. At the same time, TV5 did a good thing by making Kandula Ramesh, a senior journalist anchor this event. Ms. Sonika did her best from the spot.ETV2 stopped live all of a sudden when the actual arrest was about to take place and started giving other news. This once again proved that they never change. TV9's failure generally gave an opinion that its pro-govt stand may be the reason for underplaying the arrest. But the actual reason was found to be technical one.

Mohan Babu on Zee TV soon ?

Cine Hero Mr. Manchu Mohan Babu (a.k.a Collection King ) is likely to honour the request from Zee Telugu and appear on the small screen for the first time on a large scale. It is yet to be finalised whether he appears in the show designed by the channel or, is going to host a programme to be produced by his elder son and actor Mr. Vishnu Vardhan. As per the current information, Mohan Babu has agreed in principle to host a mega (there may be an objection to the usage of this word ) Game Show on the lines of Kaun Banega Crorepathi. Since Mr. Vishnu is already in to production through his 24 Frames and Think Smart, market sources say, he is likely to take up this ambitious project on his own.

Zee Telugu has been trying all its best to fight Maa TV tooth and nail. There were many Musical and dance shows to attract the viewers regularly apart from telecasting new movies. Recently there is a news that Nagarjuna, one of the Directors of Maa TV is going to host a programme for his channel and the decision of Zee Telugu to request Mr. Mohan Babu has to be considered under the light of this development. Vishnu's serial Happy Days on Zee Telugu is a success and the media circles compare it with Yuva produced by Nagarjuna. On the similar lines, Zee Telugu is trying to run a show with Mohan Babu against the programme to be handled by Nag for Maa. Let us wait and watch this fight !

Cream of TV9 join Saakshi

In a surprise move, the cream of TV9 joined Saakshi TV giving shock to Ravi Prakash. Suvarna joined as Input Editor while Koheda Suresh will be the Desk Incharge. Balu will be the Incharge of Entertainment division and Nagaraju will continue his forte, Sports. Though the pay offred to them is not immediately known, they had to under rate the additional pay offerd by RP ( effective August with arrears ) and a gift of Rs 1 lakh. All the efforts of RP are in vain and three more people- Rami Reddy, Raghuramulu and Anand from the programming wing are about to shift. This is considered the biggest migration from TV9 ever since it started forcing RP to take immediate corrective measures. While he is on the expansion spree going from state to state, the developments at home are intriguing.

In another development, Saakshi TV was given a shock treatment by Chowdary. When Ramakrishna and Ramachandra resigned to join Saakshi, Chowdary called them back and offered a pay hike and incentives. With this, Ramakrishna, Siva Prasad and Murthy will get higher salaries and cars. Ramachandra too will get a higher pay but car will be given later. Siva Prasad, who got an offer from Saakshi but waited for a moment got the benefit as well as the confidence of the management that he is loyal to the organisation.

The similar trend was seen when Saakshi news paper started recruitment. Now it is the turn of the television medium to get higher salaries with Saakshi and TTV started taking hands and the existing channels trying to retain their staff.

Who Should own NEWS channels?

After Newspaper war, now its time for NEWS Channels war. The worrying factor is the kind of elements and the kind of money which are entering into news channel business. At national level Manu Sharma's News India is a classic example where he wanted to destroy NEWS channels by starting a news channel and a news paper. It seems that this channel is appointing history sheeter's and persons with criminal background as reporters and correspondents. This is the method and route they are adopting to destroy news channels which highlighted the jessica lal murder case trial.

In AP also many wrong elements have entered or are ready to enter into the news channel market. The irony is that journalists are forced to toe the line of these persons in their respective channels rather than bring out and produce stories which contain journalistic values. GOD save the future of news channels in AP.

Who is behind iNews ?

The advertisemnt of iNews created ripples in the television medium and at the same time people are busy finding out the person behind it. Since there was a rumour doing rounds in the media circles that Mr. Rajasekhar, once Chief Coordinator in TV9 has been actively working out on launching a channel, the new channel was immediately identified with him. Everybody is believing that Mr. Rajasekhar is behind it but nobody is confirming the financier's name.

As per the initial information, thr MNR group is financing this venture, though not fully. One Mr. Sanyasi Rao of FAPCII, well known in the industry and business circles is also one among the financiers of this project. There is an analysis that some bigwigs of Raju community have come forward to challenge the channel owned by Srini Raju. The number of Chief Reporters in TTV rose to 4 with three more joining the channel. While Senior Journalist Mr. Danny ( earlier in CTV ) joined the organisation three months ago, the other three joined this month.

Mr. Kranti is the Chief Reporter - Crime Bureau ( Earlier with Gemini, TV9 and TV5 ) ; Mr. Suresh is the Chief Reporter - General Bureau ( Earlier with Vaarta, Andhra Jyothi , NTV and TV5 ) and Mr. Prabhu is the Chief Reporter - Entertainment Bureau ( Earlier with Megha Sandesam, Cine Star, cinegoer.com and Dasari TV ) as per the present information, Mr. Kranti is yet to take charge. Though the designations are same, there is variation in salaries.
