అయినా మా ముఖాలు (ఇందిర , సోనియా , రాజీవు , వైఎస్సు, జగన్ ) మరియు మా అరవిందము లైన మా వేషభాషలు వున్న ఫోటో లు చూసి పిచ్చెక్కి వోటు వేసే మీకు ఇంట తెలివి వస్తుంది అని నేను భావిమ్పలేదు . మీకు నా రెండు రూపాయల బియ్యం అందినట్లు లేదు. అవే తింటే వున్న మతి పోయి నాకు బానిస బ్రతుకులు బ్రతకరేమి ?

ఏమైననూ సరే, నేను దేవుడిని , నా పరిపాలన దేవుని పాలన , మా మంత్రులు , అధికారులూ అందరూ మహనీయులు . మా పుత్రరత్నం ఎంత అమోఘమైన చరిత ను సొంతం చేసుకున్నాడో మీరంతా వీక్షిస్తూనే వున్నారు కదా?

సరిగ్గా ఐదేళ్ళ క్రితం నేను కూడా ఇలాగే అధికారం కొరకు నానా జాతుల గడ్డి కరచుచున్నవాడను అన్న సంగతి తెలివి తక్కువ దద్దమ్మలు అయిన సామాన్య ప్రజలు ఎప్పుడో మరచితిరి.చేసిన మంచి పనులు టార్చి లైట్ పెట్టి వెతికినా ఒక్కటీ కనపడక మా పరిపాలన లో నే వర్షాలు వస్తున్నాయి అని చెప్పుకోవలసిన దిక్కుమాలిన పరిస్థితి.పగ వాడికి కూడా ఇంత నీచమైన పరిస్థితి రాకూడదు.అందరూ నా రంగు రంగుల ప్రచార మాయా ప్రపంచములో జోగుచున్నారు.

An axe called rescission is hanging right over our heads. This is a matter of life and death for about four thousand men and women in Andhra Pradesh alone, who knows nothing but writing. Who earns some virtual images; but not property. Who moves very close to power corridors; but never know the secret of getting a SEZ. For that matter, they even do not know how to get a house site during life time. And, most among this lot are lone bread earners of their respective families.

Rescission has already become man-eater. It has already eaten away the Sitara news channel and C-TV cable network.

Everyone is well aware that rescission will become more ferocious once the dust of elections is settled and the din of ballot war is over. Meanwhile we can not rule out the pre-election closure of some media houses.

Media personnel as a whole has become endangered species during the days of rescission. It seems some of the commentators in the media blogs have not realized the fact that rescission will not stop with one or two firms. It will not end with hundred or two hundred workers. It will gulp the whole media community.

It is time of integration. It is time of solidarity. It is time of harmony.

Certainly it is not the time for enjoying mutual mud slandering. The whole community is at risk of whether away.

This is time to find out measures to overcome rescission. This is time to protect our lives. Protect our profession. Let us all together find out some means and ways that strengthen us to sustain during rescission.

Media should survive. Media workforce should survive.

Is this any where happens. These people are running newspapers to achieve their personal gains rather than giving news to it's readers.

It is very sad our Telugu media went to this low level in journalism.

We cant expect professionalsm in a news paper run by a politician.

Why a reputed news paper like Eenadu doing the same thing.

This was proved in national media eg. news X Doordarshan,and now sakshi management is going to witness that.Sakshi bulletins quality is far worst than gemini News. You might have observed Ntv bulletins quality is improved and sakshi will not match with ntv. Sakshi ntv tv5 all have same technology and except salshi other two channels have goog man power. A good hand like sastry in Ntv and kommineni in tv5. show me a single experianced person from sakshi.

TV9 announced another news channel TV1 with a tie up with a New york based channel. 2 Telugu News channels from a same group? Sounds funny
It is not a funny news, but a serious business strategy. Media don, who equated Indian Media to clandestine underworld, Jains of Times of India had / has similar kind of strategies. The strategies are to monopolize the market. The recent example is they started Mumbai Mirror and running it parallel to TOI. To cite an example to heights of their intrigues, they planned to start (probably started, sorry I don't know) a new news daily as a joint venture with their arch- rivals Hindustan Times.
Coming to TV9, to speak frankly, it has been a channel with a core idea of exploiting, blackmailing the vulnerable sections. It has succeeded in its 'mission' and emerged NO 1. It has been pioneered for many new 'values' of journalism, particularly in visual media. With the new endeavour of launching a new channel TV 1, it may further foray on Telugu viewers abjectly.

1.YSR rejected Saakshitv logo as it looked like a devotional channel logo. He was upset with the way seniors like Sastry were thrown out due to internal politics. YSR asked 'Who is going to lead this 220 crore venture?'The senior management was mum on this.

2.TV5 got into deep financial crisis. No one wants to buy a channel in recession and the banks closed the doors at the management.

3.Inews logo is in trouble as they copied it from ICICI bank logo. ICICI threatened to file a case on Inews. Confusion prevails in the channel as the management wants to sideline corrupt king Rajasekhar.


4.NTV sacked 20 employees from Vanitha and converted it into a General entertainment channel. K.S.Ramarao will lead this channel.


6.MAAtv people say they are ready to launch a news channel for Chiru before the elections.

7.MAHATV got into troubles as its major investor Sujana group ran into trouble. All the other investors like Seenaiah from a social (Caste) group are in second thoughts.

8.HMTV is loosing 2 crores a month and remained a nonstarter.

9.Asianet news Satish started working in NTV leaving his team in confusion.

10.According to sources,a corporate giant from Andhra has started acquiring equipment for the launch of another news channel.

A new concept channel is going to be aired from April 2009. It is first of its kind in Telugu. AP-B2B is the channel name and Techrandam group is going to launch it. The channel provides Business to Business links for all services. On 12th Jan night more than 40 members met in Hotel Taj Deccan to discuss about that and the concept maker of the project Suresh Chandra (ex Internet Editor of vaartha and now freelancer to a few tech and biz outsourcing channels) gave an excellent presentation about his project. In the initial stage the team is going to invest 40 crores on this project. Suresh Chandra will be the CEO of the channel and he is going to launch web-channel of the same before the launch of the channel.

WHy.. TV9 channel lose any opportunity to highlight such sensational news of Satyam Issue

The multi-crore Satyam Computers fraud has been the talk of the town on Wednesday. And all television channels highlighted the development in all possible manners, including special chat shows and debates.

But not TV9 channel, which normally does not want to lose any opportunity to highlight such sensational news. Instead, the channel tried to play down the entire development in the morning by stating that it was a mere accounting fraud. It was only after the drama started unfolding by afternoon and the Union government, SEBI and Stock Exchanges started reacting strongly to the fraud, the TV9 channel started airing the news prominently, but cautiously.

The reason was simple: The TV9 promoters were heavily banking on the investments to be brought in through Satyam group for future expansion of the channel. About Rs 1,000 crore was supposed to be invested into the channel. Srini Raju, the promoter of TV9, diverted huge funds from Satyam group into the channel and they had also held huge shares in the group. With the collapse of the Satyam, their plans got crashed. And on Wednesday alone, TV9 had lost more than Rs 100 crore in the stock market, say insiders

Studio N speeds up

Studio N promoted by Narne Srinivasa Rao of narne Group and led by Mr. Sivaram Prasad is gearing up for launch in January. The make shift office close to the permanent building is working round the clock. However, some of the staff members are not happy since they were not given any specific designations. Some were assured good posts but later were asked to confine to lower designations. One such person who came all the way from Delhi to join in the Input department had to go back after knowing that he was not the Input Chief. However, these internal issues are kept aside and Mr. Sivaram Prasad is getting ready for the launch. Though he is confident of January 15th launch, the reality is that he may take time till Feb 10th, just in time for the forthcoming elections.

P.S : Mr. Gopal Reddy, a close associate of Mr. Sivaram Prasad, MD has joined Studio N , quitting TV5 as everybody expected. It all started on the day when Mr. Prasad left TV5. Everyone (his friends and foes) started asking him as to when he would leave TV5. Finally he had to take the decision and join his old friend in Studio N. Mr. Reddy is a good sports journalist.

The AJ TV, which is yet to born was already died. Though RK is putting a brave face, the reality is different. The problem started with incharge. KS pushed Siva Prasad, who is very dumb..arrogant and waste fellow. In NTV he created a havoc. It is true even if we see the ratings. The ratings joomed up after his depature. He is cynical in nature and womaniser. The problem lies here. KS who wants his chamcha there, strongly favouredSiva Prasad. He pushed and made him incharge. Then he wanted Sribala of Sakshi Fame (Now in NTV- ready to jump Andhra Jyothy soon), Kupili Padma(KS heartthroab- which is known to everybody including his partner Sudha) and gang to bring to TV. By that time RK realised his folly and started postponing the appointments. Then Siva Prasad wanted to bring Priyamvada (EX Vaarth-Apollo PR-Venkata Krishna- Now Siva Prasad). She worked for two days and left. Then they started drama of selection of anchors..So far nobody slected. Then they recurited mindless Budan (who was insane and got treatment for his psychological disorders). If we see all these events, RK has neither capacity or capability or willingness to launch a channel. Once again KS proved to be a iron leg for Andhra Jyothy. Wherever he wants to enter- it is a disaster. RK- AWAKE.. otherwise you also will be doomed. KS has nothing to loose. Once again he will go to his Kupili Padma and Sribala.

Zee news which is standing apart from the crowd and creating some hope

Rtv is already on air but failed to make any impact. Next bang will be in Jan when 7 telugu new news channels are hitting air. Today ETV2 lost 136 employees to SAAKSHITV and has become weak. TV9 has got a black mark by its senior cameraman in Vizag resorting to blackmailing followed by police action. TV5 and NTV got into serious financial troubles due to bloodbath of market and both are up for sale. No one knows who is running Gemini news. In this scenario one has to wait and see the birth of new news channels. Asianet leader Satishbabu is promising the sky to his people. Saakshi is in toothing troubles because of its ETV crowd and the head from ETV who is trying to carve the channel in ETV style. I-NEWS is in trouble because its head who was once caught in corruption again eaten 1 crore in newtv and the matter is under investigation. In this scenario its only Zee news which is standing apart from the crowd and creating some hope among the jurnos. So friends lets wait for Jan.

HMTV, formerly known as T Channel is all set for December launch

Our firm belief is that if the people of our country are given correct information in right perspective, they are capable of making proper decision which is of utmost importance in a democracy. We have a feeling that the present fare put out by various news channels and newspapers is falling short of universal standards of journalism and democracy. There is also a feeling that the Andhra Pradesh media in general is domonated by persons who do not seem to have commitment to the welfare of the society. Fair play has been lacking. Political agendas are sought to be implemented through tv channels and columns of newspapers. We thought there is a need to show the proper way by building an ideal media house.

Mr. K. Ramachnadra Murthy who has been a journalist for more than thirty five years and a distinguished editor for more than two decades has been exploring the possiblity of founding an organisation which could build such a media house. He was looking for the right persons to associate with. Mr. Mallepalli Laxmaiah and other friends have been with him in this dream. Mr. Murthy, while he was editor of Andhra Jyothi, happened to meet Mr. Vamanrao, chairman of Kapil group of companies, who is interested in funding a responsible news channel. As both Mr. Murthy and Mr. Vamanrao share the same value system and believe in honest means and lofty goals, it did not take much time for them to get together to develop Hyderabad Media House. HMH is about to launch a tv news and current affairs channel in December this year.

A formidable team has been built up over the year with like-minded persons who are known for their integrity and accomplishment in their respective fields. We are rearing to go. We are confident that we would be able to catch the imagination of the viewers with our content and presentation. We want to be different from the rest of the channels by all means.

After Mr. Laxmaiah participated in teleconference on November 12, 2008, we were pleased to note that our friends in the US and other countries are willing to extend their support to the channel. While whole-heartedly welcoming our well wishers into the family of hmtv, we have a request to make through the following points.

1)All the Telugu channels are winding up the show at 11 pm and repeating the day's programmes till 5 am next day. We would like to produce some programmes which would interest NRIs. Our night would be NRI's day when they can watch such programmes. In order to produce original programmes, we need footage from the US and other countries. We need to have a network of reporting. Can our friends organise a network of enthusiastic persons who are prepared to ruch to the news spot, take visuals and send them across to us?

2)Is it possible to also have a marketing network of sorts to help the channel in mobilising some advertisements from the US so that part of the cost of production could be met?

3)We would also like to include news about the parents of NRIs who are living in India. We would use our local network of reporters to get the news. We, would also request our NRI friends to encourage their friends and relatives back home to patronise hmtv.

4)We will be obliged if any of the NRIs could come up with suggestions to improve the content and business of hmtv. We would be happy if they could bring to our notice any problems in distribution of the channel over there.

HMTV, formerly known as T Channel is all set for December launch. The work is progressing on a war footing at their new premises located at ASRao Nagar and the test signal is likely this month. The channel is expected to be different from other channels with its English and Urdu bulletins. The Heads are now concentrating on how to take forward the channel. They have been in touch with NRIs of Telangana and are trying to seek their help in both content procurement as well as revenue generation. No one knows why the channels were chasing him. More interestingly, senior reporters like Zakir and Murthy (NTV) too were bearing all that nonsense Prabhakar was saying on camera. May be trying to answer cleverly, he was just insulting these journalists. When it comes to Ramoji, Suman cursed his father and said Ramoji had never trusted him. If his father was not willing to trust him, why should anybody (except Prabhakar) trust Suman. Total investment of 5 channels is 850 million rupees (rs 85 crore. 1200 employees for 5 channels (avg 240 employees). the company wants to operate at lower costs.

TV9 bouquet of channels is all set to launch five city specific channels focusing on news and entertainment. TV9 belongs to Associated Broadcasting Co. Pvt. Ltd (ABCL).

The new channels, TV9 Mumbai, TV9 New Delhi, News9, TV9 Chennai and Lehren, will cater to audiences outside South India, where ABCL already has a strong presence.

TV9 Mumbai, a Hindi news channel for the financial capital of the country, and Lehren, a 24 hour Bollywood news channel, are scheduled to go on air in December. News9, a Bengaluru based English news channel, will be launched by the end of this financial year.

TV9 New Delhi, a National Capital Region (NCR) specific channel, and TV9 Chennai are to be launched next year.


In an email interview to afaqs!, MKVN Murthy, vice-president, ABCL, says, “TV9's tagline is, ‘Towards Better Society’. We believe in microlevel focus on states so that local issues are addressed and the audience is benefited.”

The total investment for all five channels stands at Rs 850 million. They will be headed by Ravi Prakash, chief executive officer, ABCL, who is the brain behind all the TV9 channels.

For TV9 Mumbai, Lehren and News9, which are to go on air soon, the company is looking at a total strength of about 1,200 employees.

All the channels will be free to air, with a target group (TG) spanning the entire population of the demarcated regions. The group has no plans for soft launches of the channels. “We don't believe in pre-launch activities. When we go on air, we make a mark. So far, our experience has been good,” asserts Murthy.

ABCL is looking at pan-Indian reach with so many channels in the offing. “This initiative will make ABCL a truly pan-Indian broadcaster, articulating the concerns of people living in major cities in the language most accessible to them,” claims Murthy.

Apart from the scheduled launches, the company also plans to expand its base in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa. It also has plans to launch a pan-India channel.

ABCL recently acquired majority stake in Indiavision, a Malayalam channel, and Kolkata TV, which is promoted by the Xenitis Group.

At a time when all broadcasters are focusing on cost cutting, how wise is the decision to launch so many new channels? “We have always operated in a low cost environment, wherein the emphasis is on optimum utilisation of the deployed resources. So, it should not be a problem for us,” says Murthy.

ABCL is promoted by iLabs Capital, a $350 million India focused venture capital fund. TV9 has a host of channels under its banner, including TV9 news channels in Telugu, Kannada and Gujarati. ABCL also runs and operates the Telugu spiritual channel, Samskruthi.

We all must understand that politicians and media managements go hand in hand. they want to protect each other's intersts. Take example of cheeranjivi. Radhakrishna of AJ wanted to use him for purpose. Ramoji with his might hijacked him. Now the real story began. We must understand cheerajivi is a weak and meek person. He cannot withstand pressure from anyquarter. RK style is not suitable to him. So instead of all the pressure from left lobby to ally with RK, Aranvind and others refused. Ramoji who gives space to his performers ( as long as it suits him) gave such scope to Cheeranjivi. Now note a point. who is writing front page news about sucesses of cheerajivi- not Eenadu but andhra jyothy. Sudhakar with blessings of RK is writing all these stories. Now RK wanted to hijack cheerajivi once again from clutches of Ramoji and wanted to play kingmaker.. all the best to him..

HOW TO INCREASE SALARIES?

In recent days some journos getting hike in salaries very quickly. Because of competition all channels are searching for seniors and talent fellows (some organizations totally depending on juniors; exemption for those people). If people really talented they may get big hike. But recently one lady journalist(?) from NTV went to SAKSHI for interview. There she got an offer letter also. Then she came back to Naredra Chowdary and showed her offer letter. After that she got a promotion in VANITHA TV with hike. Is this journalism or blackmailism?

Bottom Line is Mr. Srinivas Reddy who encouraged her for joining in sakshi is now facing very embarassing situation...Star news asked to shut down all its regional offices. Aajtak has taken a stand to keep only a single reporter in States and asked its staff to use only one mobile phone. Sahara and Times now are following the suite. 3,000 electronic media professionals across India are expected to loose their jobs before Jan 2009. In the state, HYtv, Inews, Rajnews and CBS are history now. HMtv is in two minds. AJtv and IVRtv are non starters. Among the existing channels Ntv and TV5 are wantedly loosing their senior staff. Both of them are loosing Rs.1.5 Crore per month. Maatv is up for sale and bargaining with Sony and Star has remained a non starter.

These are the hard times. Lets see how may will become unemployed by this year end.

The staff who have been working with the Sun Network enjoying benefits like Bonus despite meagre salaries are now worried about the latest development. Some of the staff have already searched for new jobs and left the organisation but those who didnt find a suitable job are still continuing. It has to be seen whether the new agency retains all of them or jettison some of them. The inevitable has happened. All these days, the Geminimanagement has been telling its employees that the staff will not lose their jobs. Now that the channel has been leased out to an agency, all the Gemini News staff have been asked to tender their resignation. The only assurance being given is that they will be given appointment orders on behalf of the new agency

NTV, TV5 were allowed to attend a private party organised by a Bangalore based company

Malli story repeat ayyindi. NTV, TV5 were allowed to attend a private party organised by a Bangalore based company. And just for one invitation to attend a small private party NTV Chairman had to call people associated with the party organisers and after repeated requests from Mr Choudary, NTV staff were allowed inside. For TV5, no contacts, no recommendation, no entry.

But do we really have to do this. It is heard that most companies have decided not to invite NTV reporters to entertainment nites considering misbehaviour of Shiva and Sunil who bad mouthed organisers during previous occassions.

I think we need to think over it. Any thoughts on it.

IVR's Mahaa News Channel

Yes, it is another news channel in the already crowded Telugu News Channel market.It is MAHAA TV of Mr. I.Venkata Rao. ETV2, TV9, Gemini News, NTV , TV5 are operational and work is going on in Sakshi , HMTV, iNews, Asianet Telugu, Zee 24 Gantalu while Andhra Jyothi's TV (name yet to be known) , IVR's mahaa TV and Sivaram Prasad's Studio N are ready for recruiting hands.The total number of telugu news channels thus become 13.

Today's advertisement in Andhra Jyothi said that MAHAA TV is Mr. I.Venkata Rao's own channel. Since his books are also published by "Monika" and the network is also named after Monika, people are made to believe that Mr. IVR is the chief promoter of the channel, though it is rumoured that Mr. Nama Nageswara Rao is behind this venture. There is another news doing its round saying that a retired police officer is the chief promoter. The launch is expected in February ( Mr. IVR is hopeful of launching in January itself ) but it will be herculian task considering the experience of Mr. Ramachandra Murthy who has been struggling hard to bring out hmtv for the past one year.

Mr. Katta Shekhar Reddy will be the second in command and the key persons in the team have already been selected. It is also known that Mr. Vinay is the Chief Producer for this channel. Mr. Rama Rao ( Formerly with Andhra Jyothi at Guntur ) will be the Input Editor, Mr. Narayana ( ETV) will be the Hyderabad Bureau Chief and Mr. Keshav (ETV ) will be the Output Editor. Some more ETV staff members have been finalised but the names are yet to be known.

Sivaram Prasad's Studio launch in January.

Interestingly, Mr. Sivaram Prasad of Narne Group is also planning to launch his channel in January. He has already ordered for the equipment and the installation is likely to be completed by the end of November. The recruitment will be from 1st December, by which time everything will be in nplace and those who join can start working immediately. His experience helped a lot and the planning is likely to prove that he can bring out his channel in January without burdening the promoters heavily with the unproductive pre launch expenses. ( Sakshi and HMTV are now spending huge sums on salaries without any tangible productive work.)

As for the other news channels waiting for the launch, Sakshi HDTV, Zee 24 Gantalu, Asianet Telugu News are likely to be aired in January taking into consideration the pace of work going on. iNews and hmtv are planning for November launch, but insiders say that only test signal is possible since the content trials are still in a preliminary stage. Heads of these two channels are under pressure since the launch is getting delayed.

On ETV there is a reality show and it's name is DHEE. It is good and only thing I cant digest in it is, it has the essence of Tamil (Tamila vasana). The judges and majority of choreographers are from Tamilnadu. The anchor Udaya Bhanu also speaks Tamil words while anchoring. The choreographers and judges are speaking Tamilised Telugu. In that competition there was a folk segment. for that segment all contestants did "Tappan kuthu" which is a dance form of Chennai urban folk dance for festivals and funerals. Why not these choreographers use real Telugu folk dance which Maa tv did months back.

Calling choreographers from neighbouring state is not at all a mistake as there is no language barrier for any art.

What about the Telugu choreographers. Are they not talented or they all unfit for doing choreography.

A Telugu choreographer raised one objection the Judges blatently refused to oblige.

I thing it is a private producers programme generally ETV group wont do that type of mistakes.

The Producers of that reality show should include more and more Telugu choreographers, since it is a Telugu programme by a Telugu Channel targetted for Telugu viewers.

Though both the Judges Kala Master and and Tarun master well talented senior Choreographers there can be a room for Telugu choreographers as judges.

Many private regional channels bear resemblance to neighbourhood tabloids in metros like Chennai , Bangalore etc. The local-specific tabloids in cities manage to survive with the ad revenue they generate. The local and area news is very little, at best providing only a passing interest. As long as the owner-editor-publisher-reporter of these tabloids manage ads from the local bodies and ad agencies, they survive. If the going is tough, they roll up one fine morning.

It is no easy task to start, run or sustain private channels, news channels in particular. Apart from the heavy financial outlay on the hardware, running a 7x24 channel needs a lot of planning, programme planning, qualified and skilled staff etc among the others. It takes considerable time to achieve a breakeven and sustain on their own - ad revenue being the mainstay of almost all start-up and established channels.

Shailesh Reddy who is with Zee News since 1999 and headed news bureau of Zee News Hyderabad and Zee Telugu News, now will be heading Zee 24 Gantalu as Channel head.

A Master of Communication and Journalism from Osmania University Shailesh Reddy has 13 years of experience in Journalism. Shailesh Reddy started his career in 1995 with Eenadu group as Reporter. Worked in the New Delhi bureau of the Eenadu television for two years before joining Zee.

Narne group's telugu news channel is being planned for December launch. The staff recruited so far doesnt exceed 20 but they are confident enough to launch in December. The trainees of RV Prasad at Channel 4 office who joined the institute paying around 20,000 will be inducted as per the information available. Pooja was performed at the new premises located on the outskirts of the city, somewhere at Manikonda, about 8 km from Jubilee Hills Checkpost. This will be the third such experiment to go to a far off place, after HMTV and RTV. The management is said to be very particular on immediate launch keeping in view the Assembly elections.
