Andhra Jyothy managing director Radhakrishna has hit the bull’s eye.
Even as his media rival Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of Sakshi is making hectic preparations for the launch of Sakshi Telugu channel, Radhakrishna is learnt to have entered into an agreement with popular international channel CNN, for the launch of a Telugu channel.
Sources say at the local level, AJ will have an understanding with CNN-IBN for the regional channel, in news and business sharing. Going by the deal, Radhakrishna would emerge as a media baron in Andhra Pradesh very soon.
By the way, Radhakrishna is learnt to have backed out from TTV, another regional TV channel, being headed by AJ’s erstwhile editor K Ramachandra Murthy. Initially, the project was being funded by Radhakrishna and Kapil Chit Funds. Now that Radhakrishna has backed out, the burden will fall on Kapil Chit Funds, sources say.

NRI CHANNEL TO ROPE IN CBC TEAM
One more new Telugu News channel is coming up in the month of November and a multi-millionnaire NRI from Godavari districts is pumping in huge amounts for the proposed channel. An MoU was signed between the Raju family from Godavari districts in this regard on Friday and the proposed channel is likely to air Telugu and English bulletins simultaneously. While the Telugu wing likely to headed by MV Ramana, the CBC man, A Chronicle product from the twin cities is likely to lead the English section. Formalities such as applying for the license and office accommodation were completed and the new premises of the office is located in the Erra Manzil area of the state capital. The new management is offering hefty packages for the team and even the trainee batches are likely to get five figure remuneration as stipends. The NRI team , basically involved in the promotion of cement industry in the Karnataka state is trying to put its base on the Telugu Channel market and the management wing is hoping to bank on the innovative team mainly. The team head of CBC reportedly submitted a list of probable innovative skilled persons in the electronic media field and he has chosen some of his past friends to join the new brigade. Though the channel is not a big one to compete with the channels like Saakshi , the NRI promoters are keen on competing the channels such as TV9, I news and the NTV initially. Senior disgruntled people in other channels were also identified by the NRI team and even the news presenter section would also be equipped with senior personalities. The recruitment process would commence from the first week of September , but sources close to NRI investors say that the channel people were banking on poaching practice mainly.
