The state of Andhrapradesh has witnessed great moments in its media history.Today's ntv launch is certainly a turning point in AP media book. A mere truck driver who swindled money by Ganja smuggling, fakenote scam, flesh trade and land grabbings is eying on media to get more power. He paid lakhs to hire journalists and now challenging the set of values of existing media. His majority partner Shabbir ali who was a mere bootlegger of Kamareddy is in hurry to grab his piece in the media of the state.One has to wait and see whether Narendertv's chief becomes successful in his dream to become a Rajyasabha member or not.all comments

Sir, - One gets doubts about media values when one goes through different versions of news reports and stories in daily newspapers.
If some reports look biased, engineered and doctored plants, others look bland or better still no mention at all. Some news is played up, others, though important from information point to readers, deliberately spiked, for various reasons. Discerning readers easily through this.
Reputation and credibility of newspapers or electronic media gets eroded when trivial information like a public representative or official opening a vegetable shop or saloon, holding an umbrella to someone drenched in rain during a demonstration, or pressing a button to inaugurate a digital bell in a cinema hall or cine bigwigs and models gracing showrooms, officials inaugurating this or that project, etc is played up. Other than a passing reference, news about such events do not deserve much attention, least of all crowd photos and visuals about them from a reader/viewer point. It sometimes looks like waste of precious space in newspapers and channel time.

Dont blame Naren Chowdary nor mimick Kommineni. May be Kommineni has a little black complexion, but that does not mean he should anchor programme. What about Senthil Chengavarayan or CNBC TV 18? He too is a blacky, but got name and fame.
I hope colour will not affect Kommeni from becoming a leader in electronic news media, and soon he will surpass Ravi Prakash and becomes a house hold name in Andhra Pradesh.

I am a senior journalist who used to work for EEENADU. I observed the things very closely..Please post this comment separately because it contains lot of facts and throws light on how an organization based on caste survives, thrives and then declines. In the declining phase all the people leave it. Earlier there were some examples like Andhrapatrika, Andhra prabha dominated by one caste. Now the same thing is happening with Eenadu. Let me explain further in detail. I feel you should put it separately so that our journalist fraternity know more about inside working of an organization.. Please note that I am not against any particular caste and in fact my marriage is a inter caste one.
First let us see how the caste plays a role in Editorial Department of Eenadu. Eenadu has different wings, headed by different people. After the Margadarsi contraversy Kiron and his gang with approval of his papa Ramoji tried to fill the posts with their caste people. They calculated that - at least they have a caste loyalty, which is working beautifully in eenadu for last 31 years. Let us see who is heading all the branches..

There are few exceptions not because they are highly talented but they are true boot licker's of either MNR or DN Gang. Veer Reddy, who is a pig headed (every body knew it in eenadu)person is boot licker of MNR. Then comes Vasundara in charge Sripada Padmasri(Bramhin by birth), who is boot licker of Rahul. For that matter she can be loyalist of any person including Veerreddy. In her case problem is replacement. Generally only ladies are in charges of Vasundara Edition. There are few kamma women left in editorial to replace padmasri. They tried to put Shanti sri, who is also kamma in the place of padmasri. but she is dumb, so they don't have much choice. Vakallanka Kishore, internet in charge is an exception because there is no easy replacement. Many a times DN tried to put Amrita, who is kamma in his place. because of her dumbness, she management realized that she cannot hold her fort for long. so they dropped the idea.
If you take administration all the managers are Kammas with one or two exceptions. The beauty of Eenadu is that any office boy also can become a manager and say anything about Journalism.
WHY SO MANY KAMMAS?
It serves two purposes.. one- Caste loyalty gives stability to organization. Many people don't left the organization. Second factor is it is legacy of Ramesh babu, Varma and Ramamohan Rao. They filled the Editorial with their own caste loyalists. But the Shrewd Ramoji realized the importance of the other castes. He carefully filled 60 percent his organization work force with other castes. It worked out beautifully like 70: 30 Management formula. All the important positions were filled by Kammas and work force would be from other castes. This worked for last 30 years- because of lack of opportunities. Now all of a sudden everything changed. New openings came forth. New generation wants quick bucks rather than stability. So his formula started faltering.
WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW?
Now a days non kammas in Eenadu became very insecure. Most of them feel that due to margadarsi crisis the management may put more kammas (i.e. loyalists) on their heads. so they can monitor the things better. but the new opportunities gave them fresh lease of life. If you see the persons left Eenadu recent times- they are all non kammas working under kammas. Take recent exodus from General Desk and two resignations from Pratibha, Pratibha plus desks. Because of high hand behavior and arrogance of Rahul they left the organisation. All are once darlings of Management and they got all the hikes. They were very insecure about Kamma domination and future prospects. Now the management wanted to change the track.. They may propose one or two non kammas for important positions in organisation. According to grave pine- Kannababbu, a kapu and BC may replace Viswa Prasad, a real dead wood in journalistic world. Rajamahandra Reddy may get a promotion and hike in General Desk. Few more Brahmins may be elevated to important positions. But the real question is who will change the system nurtured by Caste? let us wait and watch. see for more on eenadu in this column.

Sir, - Exodus of employees from one organisation to another, or high attrition rate among employees, is not new. More the job openings, greater will be the movement. This is what is being witnessed in the electronic and print media field now. More channels, more newspapers.
The more the jobs or openings available with good pay and perks, the greater will be the movement of workers. The high attrition rate among software professionals in IT companies in Bangalore or Hyd provides an example.
Perhaps the same kind of phenomena is seen in the media field with more and more news channels and newspapers coming up. The field perhaps is now offering more opportunities for start-ups as well as middle level and senior level media professionals.
Competence, calibre and skills of an employee matter more for an employer/business organisation than any other consideration as huge investments are involved. More so in the globalsed era in which we live today.
Wider choice of opportunities and earning are motivating professionals these days to hop from one company to the other than any other reason. A decade ago this flexibility was not available in the media field. Organisations which fail to realise the changing conditions and adapt themselves find themselves market redundant and die a gradual and natural death. Those that keep in step with the changes survive and flourish.

i am surprised to know shabbir ali's partnership with NTV. A small time fellow from kamareddy, Shabbir Ali shot into fame in present government due to his loyalty to YSR. NTV probably the first ever media enterprise from Telangana area. shabbir Ali once a small time man now rised to the level of owning a TV. But, he doesn't have much following in Kamareddy.
